Welcome to Patron of the Arts' 2020-2021 season! During these times, we are made even more aware of the important role the arts play in our lives as they help us nourish our hearts and minds.

This season, our goal is to share inspiring art directly from the heart of the performing and creative arts at UTRGV, our College of Fine Arts. We will offer free online exhibits and performances from our talented faculty, students, and guest artists from various creative disciplines.

You can expect online-only events through the end of 2020 in order to ensure your safety and that of our performers. We will communicate our plans for the second half of the season in 2021 with you after careful evaluation the world pandemic.

We look forward to this, our most diverse season yet, and we hope you will follow us on social media and continue to be part of our community from wherever you are.

Passion and Power: A Journey Through
Beethoven's Piano Sonatas

Dr. Brendan Kinsella, piano

Premieres on September 28 at 7 p.m.
Watch here or on YouTube!

Celebrating the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's (1750-1827) birth, this recital is dedicated to three of his Piano Sonatas: op. 2 #1 in F minor, op. 2 #3 in C major, and op. 57 in F minor ("Appassionata").

Each of these powerful works displays Beethoven's incredible prowess as a virtuoso pianist (particularly in his early years) as well as his ability to create gripping, dramatic music that still moves and inspires listeners centuries later.
